The Story

The Woman in the Painting is a taut, cinematic thriller that plunges deep into the psyche of a man who has never known true imagination—until he kills. Adam Walker is hailed by the New York Times as one of the world’s greatest living artists. Handsome, charming, and celebrated, he moves effortlessly through the upper echelons of New York’s art scene. But Adam has a secret: he’s no visionary at all, only a gifted copyist who reproduces obscure 19th-century paintings and claims them as his own. One night, a chance killing unlocks something terrifying inside him. For the first time, Adam can create—his masterpiece is murder. Each victim becomes a living canvas, each crime a twisted homage to the great masters. As the bodies pile up, two seasoned detectives and an art forensics expert must stop him before Adam finishes his ultimate work of art.
