The Story
The Taste of words is a fun, thoughtful exploration of the world around, divided up in delicious portions. The menu for today consists of five courses, and each has its own introduction. Some poems within those specific groups also have a brief commentary. All of this helps to put the poems into a context and to provide insights into what is going on in my heart and in my world at the time of the writing. We have dreams at night that are most often directly related to what is happening to us at that time in our lives, and we can use these dreams to work through issues that we need to address. Similarly, my poems frequently reflect on what is taking place in my world at any particular time, and knowing that context may bring some light to the meaning of a specific poem. I believe that these introductions will help you get a firmer grasp on the meaning of the poem. Whether you read all of the poems or just a few, or simply delight in a specific course on the menu, I hope you will take time to savor the flavors. Whatever your appetite, I hope you will find as much joy in reading them as I had in writing them. And, who knows, they may inspire you to do some of your own writing, or perhaps even give you some ideas for your current writing if you are already engaged.
